Community Engagement
TCMNA (Traverse City Munson) members recently collected over $100 and used the money to buy lunch for striking UAW Local 598 workers. Pool nurse Aeryn Pattinson-Stiers and mental health nurse Eleanor Brockway led the way, collecting money from eager colleagues in just a couple days.
Community Outreach Update

At TCMNA, we are proud to show solidarity with our neighbors and union siblings in Northern Michigan. Last December, MNA members donated funds to forgive $8.9 million worth of medical debt. Community engagement is a core value of our union.
We participate in numerous volunteer activities and are continuing to do so. We have served dinner with Munson Manor guests and are looking for volunteers and food donations so we can do this on a monthly basis. We are also hoping to volunteer with Safe Harbor (a local homeless shelter) to assist the Commission of Aging with a snow removal initiative in the coming months.
Additionally, we have built ties with other unions in Michigan. We sent pizza to GM workers on strike in Flint, walked the line with Local 324 Machine Workers who were protesting unfair labor practices, and spoke out in support of NMC faculty.
If you would like to get involved with TCMNA's community outreach efforts, email our Community Advocacy Coordinator.

Traverse City Supports Munson Nurses
Hundreds of our neighbors showed solidarity with RNs by putting up yard signs. We are proud to have their support and to advocate for our patients every day at the hospital.
