Dear TCMNA nurses,
This week, we continued to bargain with the Medical Center over three days. In this time, we received responses from the Medical Center on our proposal regarding mandatory overtime and held fruitful discussions on topics like seniority and the use of telesitters. We believe we are close to reaching several additional tentative agreements with Munson's administration
Additionally, we had an opportunity for a nurse from B3 to present a letter signed by over 25 nurses, several physicians, and PAs relating to the staffing concerns on that unit. We spoke with members of Munson's administration about the concerns and discussed potential solutions, both for B3 and for staffing levels throughout the hospital. If your unit is interested in circulating a similar petition to the one B3 signed, please reach out to a TCMNA organizer, your TCMNA labor representative, or one of your elected bargaining team members. As a union member, you get to have a voice!
We'll be back at the table for four days next week - Tuesday through Friday - where we hope to receive responses from the Medical Center to our proposals related to Nurse Practitioners, Surgical Services, and Non-Bedside Nurses.
Please make sure to save the date for our next General Membership Meeting on Thursday, January 26th at 530p and 8p on Zoom. This will be our last meeting before the expiration of our contract on February 14. Attendance is recommended for ALL dues paying members. (If you aren't a member yet, you can join by clicking here.) We will discuss where negotiations stand at that point in time, as well as what next steps might look like for nurses if our contract expires.
In solidarity,
